Is there a yoga posture that you used to rock that now you won’t venture into?

Chakrasana – I have completely taken it out of my repertoire. Not only do I not do it—I don’t care to ever do it again. I did it before because it was easy, my body responded well. Now it makes me dizzy and nauseous. I’m not interested in looking cool – but back then I definitely thought it was cool.

What do you consider to be a fun posture, now?

I’m attracted to restorative poses. I’m so intense and hard-wired with energy. It slows down my tone and brings calmness to my communication and that’s how I want to show up in my life these days…calm and balanced.

Is there a habit that you have that would be considered to be a ‘non-yoga’ thing that you do?

Well there’s so many things! Haha. One that comes to mind, I inherited from my mother who sweats a lot. My go-to phrase when I’m angry is definitely sprinkled with some profanity – not very yoga-like indeed.

Sweet or salty?

Hmmm…salty.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

Invisibility – so I could be everywhere – make things happen. I’d also like to be clairvoyant so that I could read minds. I’d want a superpower that could be used to help people.

Who is the smartest person that you know?

Marianne Williamson. She is one of the smartest women I know – spiritually – politically. Very well-rounded.  She has an awareness of life and social justice and is so informed about a broad range of issues. She has mentored me so that I  could gain a better understanding of politics and social justice. She is brilliant, clever and witty.  She has a depth to her intelligence that is so admirable.

Is there a little known quirk about Seane that you can share?

I’m addicted to sunflower seeds. When I get into them, it’s usually attached to something very emotional. But I’m off the wagon and it’s been two years now! I also had OCD as a kid and was obsessed with the numbers 4 and 8. For me it was about balance, so when my environment was out of control, it was my internal way of finding balance. They are even numbers, organized, and controlled and it helped me to regulate my nervous system. It would help me get calm and feel in control.

Are you a dog lover or cat lover?

Cats – all the way.

What is your least favourite chore?

Washing dishes. Hate it. Won’t do it. I contribute in other ways but I won’t do dishes!

One thing you’d take to a desert island?

It would have to be lip balm! I have a favourite and don’t go anywhere without it!
